Irene Van Riper

Ed.D., MS

I’m a pre-licensed Professional Counselor practicing under supervision, who works with children, teens and adults navigating life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, including late diagnosed Autism, ADHD, and AuDHD, peri-menopausal women, and empty nesters.

My approach is person-centered, strength-based, compassionate and trauma-informed. I meet you where you are and I hold space for you to explore healthy changes

Therapy with me includes understanding that our bodies and our minds work in tandem and often the pain we feel in our bodies is derived from the anxiety and thoughts we feel in our minds. Regulating those emotions help to ease the pain so that you can explore, validate and become aware of those difficult thoughts and feelings.

Mindfulness and grace allow us to ease tension and stress. Many of the clients I work with are navigating questions about their neurodivergence, and/or the neurodivergence of a family member. I believe it takes time to process our questions regarding life transitions, developing boundaries, and self-awareness. Together, we will build a therapeutic space where conversations can happen openly and without shame.
