Emely Hernandez

Emely Hernandez is a pre-licensed clinician and graduate student in the Clinical Counseling program at Quincy University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with an emphasis in Counseling and Mental Health Studies. Emely additionally holds educational and professional experience in trauma-informed care, mindfulness, yoga, movement, and nature-based wellness.

Relatedly, Emely brings more than a decade of experience teaching yoga and supporting individuals through movement, mindfulness, breathwork, and accessible wellness practices. She is an experienced yoga teacher and Certified Nature Connection Specialist and has worked with individuals across the lifespan, with a particular interest in supporting adults, older adults, parents, and individuals navigating stress, life transitions, grief, trauma, and emotional well-being.

Her developing counseling approach is grounded in a Humanistic and Person-Centered Approach. When applicable to clients’ needs Emely also implements movement-based practices and creative approaches, including Mindfulness, Somatic Approaches, and Ecotherapy. Emely believes counseling is a collaborative process that honors each person’s individual experiences, strengths, values, and capacity for growth.

Outside of her clinical training, Emely enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, paddleboarding, practicing yoga, and exploring the connection between movement, nature, community, and mental wellness.
